Ford Electric Vehicles Earn Best EV Brand Honor from U.S. News

The automotive market is moving towards electric, and leading the pack is none other than the brand that brought you the best-selling pickup trucks in the U.S: Ford. 

U.S. News & World Report announced its lineup of the best of the best vehicles and car brands for 2026, and Ford gained the inaugural title for Best Electric Vehicle Brand.

“The 2026 Best Vehicle Brand awards have been expanded to reflect the rapidly evolving automotive landscape, most notably the growing importance of electric vehicles,” John Vincent, senior automotive correspondent at U.S. News, told PR Newswire. 

Here’s what the newly named “Best Electric Vehicle Brand” has to offer for those looking to make the shift towards electric in the new year. 

A Small Yet Mighty EV Lineup 

The lineup of Ford electric cars, trucks, and SUVs may be small, but don’t underestimate its potential. The fully electric Ford lineup currently features three EVs: the F-150 Lightning, the Mustang Mach-E, and the E-Transit van. Hybrid models, which combine gas and electric power, include the Ford Maverick, F-150, Escape ST-Line Elite Hybrid, and Escape Plug-in Hybrid. 

After an outstanding third quarter for its EVs, Forbes reported that the Ford F-150 Lightning pulled ahead of the electric truck lineup, including the Tesla Cybertruck. The Ford electric truck didn’t just beat out the Cybertruck; it took home the title of America’s best-selling electric pickup.
