What’s New for 2026?
For 2026, Ford focused all its efforts on presentation, with looks designed to make your jaw drop.
One of the major highlights for 2026? The new FX appearance package.
The new 2026 Ford Mustang FX package seeks to honor the Mustang’s past during one of its most sought-after eras–the 1980s Fox Body Mustang.
The FX appearance package is pristine and pure with white exterior elements, from the wheels to the inlaid accents in the grille. A new wheel design in Oxford White is offered on models equipped with the Performance Package, while the remaining models receive a revised version of the existing 19-inch split five-spoke wheels in the same eye-catching Oxford White.
The color continues to seep into other exterior elements of the Mustang, including the badging, grille, decals, and taillights on the Performance Package models.
But the FX package is not the only visual change coming to the Mustang for 2026. Two exterior paint colors will join the lineup for 2026: the Adriatic Blue Metallic and the return of the Orange Fury Metallic, which comes back with a vengeance after it was discontinued in 2019.
The Heart of the Mustang: The 5.0-Liter V8 Engine
The Mustang is power personified, and at the heart of this wild stallion is pure, uncompromised power and performance.
While the base powertrain–a 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine–delivers solid performance, the 5.-Liter V8 is the beating heart of the 2026 Mustang. Producing 480 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft of torque, the V8 provides unparalleled power through the choice of either a 10-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual.
Whether your heart calls for the EcoBoost or V8 engine, you won’t be too far behind when you push the accelerator from 0 to 60 mph. The EcoBoost engine is capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, with the Mustang GT amping it up to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds when paired with the performance exhaust system.
2026 Ford Mustang Colors and Eye-Catching Features
Performance is only part of the Mustang’s story. The other half? Its eye-catching design elements and color choices that are designed to wow.
Available in ten exterior color choices, the new Ford Mustang for 2026 is primed for one thing: making a statement.
In addition to the new Orange Fury Metallic and Adriatic Blue Metallic, the 2026 Ford Mustang exterior paint colors include:
- Oxford White
- Iconic Silver Metallic
- Carbonized Gray Metallic
- Shadow Black
- Race Red
- Grabber Blue Metallic
- Vapor Blue Metallic
- Molten Magenta Metallic Tinted Clearcoat
While the exterior of the Mustang stops you in your tracks, the interior is what holds your attention–and then some.
A mix of new and retro elements, the Mustang’s interior is comfortable and entertaining. The standard 12.4-inch instrument cluster is fully customizable, from its colors and gauges to a special “calm” screen that displays the necessities of your choosing.
Ambient lighting adapts to your chosen drive mode, and the cloth seats and available micro-suede vinyl inserts keep you comfortable for the road ahead.
